Our precious daughter, Emily Elizabeth Brammer, was born on September 10, 2004 in Fort Worth, Texas. Emily was delivered into this world at 29 weeks and her fight for her life began. She was so tiny and small weighing only 3lbs. 5oz. and 21 inch long. I was so sick that I don't remember it very well. The doctors decided that Emily had a better chance of survival by being delivered. Robert was by my side going through everything. When Emily came into this world Robert was so overwhelmed by joy. Now our life as a family was to begin.
Emily was taken to the NICU at Cook's Children Hospital and I was at Harris Hospital in ICU. I remained in ICU for four days. I remember waking up and asking him "What does she look like?" He said just like you. I wanted to see Emily so bad, but being in ICU I didn't get to see her yet. Robert brought a picture of little Emily and she was so pretty. They ran test after test on me, but couldn't find anything, or why this all happened. I was hospitalized at Harris Hospital for eight days total.
Emily was our little princess. She was welcomed home by her brothers; Brent, Alexander and Nicholas. My heart was so full of joy and happiness to have our little daughter finally home.
Emily departed from this earth on July 16, 2006 at the age of 22 months due to an accident where the television fell over on her. She died at Cook's Children Hospital. Her love will live on in our hearts. We will always share her story to hopefully save another family the heartache. Not in a million years would we have thought we would lose a child to this kind of accident. We never had heard of it.
